A ROCK night is being staged by a residents' association in a bid to create community spirit.
St Basil's Parish Club will see four acts play on February 22, including the notorious Pond Dwellers, the highly regarded Greg Oldfield, the bruised blues of McFly and up and coming St Helens power rockers Rolling Thunder.
The event has been organised by the Widnes Independent Residents Association, which was set up by the residents of The Cherry Sutton estate in Hough Green in January last year.
They have already organised trips to the theatre and football tournaments and hold regular coffee mornings in an effort to combat family breakdown and alienation from the community.
Tickets for the rock night are £4. Call John on 0151-510 5614 or Brian on 0151-423 5834.
