The Widnes Pool League has set up a new division for teams waiting to join the league.
It comes after a meeting between teams from the Majors, Commercial, Bradley, Grosvenor, with league secretary, Paul Campbell.
The aim of the league means all new teams will get the chance to play each other in non-competative match, giving them the opportunity to strengthen their squads, all whilst raising money for charity.
John, the landlord of the Majors pub will donate a shield for the league winners.
This Sunday sees the first matches, with Majors against Commercial and Grosvenor against Bradley.
All teams in their respective division who have not yet sent two players to a referee's exam, have been warned they must do so at the next meeting, held at the Simms Cross, on Tuesday, March 4, from 7.30pm.
