WINSFORD Swimming Club's relentless run of victories at the 2003 North Midlands Championships continued last week with three more gold medal-winning performances.
Leading the way was Middlewich swimmer Ashley Walton in the 12 years age group 200m individual medley, which he won in a time inside the qualifying for the National Age Group Championships.
Ashley will also be racing in the 200m freestyle at the nationals thanks to his silver medal-winning swim at the North Midlands. He capped a fine performance with silver in the 50m butterfly.
Winsford's other gold medals came from Cuddington sisters Abi and Lucie Tetley.
Abi won the 16 years age group 100m butterfly title when she improved her best time by more than a second.
Lucie also improved her best time as she sped to victory in the 14 years 50m freestyle. Abi also racked up three silvers, in the 16 years 50m freestyle, open age 50m freestyle and 16 years 100m individual medley. A bronze in the open 100m butterfly final made it five medals in one day for the club captain.
Gareth Clwyd Jones put in another fine 50m butterfly performance to take the 14 years silver medal with a big improvement to his personal best time.
Ryan Morris added to his haul of medals with a bronze in the open 200m freestyle.
Also on the podium was Stephanie Buckley in the 14 years 200m breaststroke and Rosalind Harrison in the 11 years 50m freestyle, both winning bronze.
These performances take Winsford's tally to a record-breaking total of 10 victories, with one more gala to go.
