A RESIDENTS' association that may be forced to close has been given a welcome boost in the form of Middlewich First.

The group, which was set up to be a new voice in the fight to get the best for Middlewich, has lent its support to Middlewich Residents' Association and its ongoing fight for survival.

The future of the association was thrown into question when chairman Bill Blunn and the rest of the committee stepped down to make way for new blood.

However, nobody took up the reigns and the association looked like it would have to disband.

But after a meeting held earlier this month, members of Middlewich First voted unanimously to offer support to the association and any assistance necessary to ensure the valuable work carried out by the former committee continues.
