TICKETS are selling fast for an entertaining evening at Middlewich British Legion - with The Family Mahone.

Dave Thompson, director of Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival said: "It will be a lively night.

"Family Mahone at Middlewich Legion - what a combination! Great venue, excellent beer and what better band to blow away those winter blues?

"DJ Mahone, otherwise known as Mark Radcliffe from Radio 1, will be travelling to the town for this special concert and will be performing Irish, Scottish and English inspired folk and drinking songs."

Performances

The performance takes place on Saturday, March 1, and provides an opportunity to whet the appetite prior to this year's Folk and Boat Festival with tickets available from the box office by ringing 0709 239 0501.

Doors open at 8pm and it is a ticket-only event.

Funds raised will go towards the costs of this year's Folk and Boat Festival street procession at 11am on Saturday, June 14.

One attraction already confirmed is the Choy Lee Fut Chinese Lion Dance troupe from Manchester's Chinese Arts Centre.

They will be performing ceremonial displays and traditional martial arts - crashing drums and cymbals make this a spectacular showpiece. This year's Festival will be held on June 13, 14 and 15 on the main site at Market Fields, off Lewin Street.
