SIMON York and Antoinette Ashley, of Lulworth Close, had a lucky Valentine's Day thanks to her work colleagues.

Antoinette said: "I'd gone out and bought Simon a ring from Asda - where I work - as a Valentine's gift last Monday and kept it in my handbag so he wouldn't find it."

"Then on Thursday night we went for a drink and I went home as usual afterwards.

"It wasn't until 10pm that I realised I didn't have my handbag with me and that it must had been stolen.

"My immediate reaction was one of shock - I was totally gutted to have lost everything in my handbag, not just the ring.

"I went into work and told one of my colleagues but I didn't expect what happened next - they told the manager and they replaced it for me straight away - I was over the moon about it."

A spokesman for Asda said: "Antoinette didn't come to the management, just to her friends.

She was very upset and we felt so sorry for her with it being Valentines Day and the way that she works so hard here too.

"That's why we decided straigt away to help her out and replace the ring."
