FOR the third week on the run, Avon notched up five goals with two in reply.
General Chemicals bossed the first half and were two goals ahead at the break. But it was certianly a game of two halves on the day.
The sun got lower in the sky and caused all kinds of problems for the overworked Chemics defence and Avon soon got back on terms.
It was, as usual, a hard fought Widnes-Runcorn derby and at times the referee could well have produced more cards of either colour.
Avon, with a well-marshalled defence by Noone, kept the Chemics out and three more goals from the home side secured the spoils.
Goals came from the never ageing Pierce and one each for Farrell, O'Grady and Gould.
Avon have no game on Saturday.
