THERE is nothing else to be said but well done to Donal McKenna who wrote the excellent letter regarding the firemen, who sleep in their own beds when on call.
If they want a pay rise for that then, why can't kitchen porters, pub managers etc have one for doing 18 hour days for pittance wages? And why shouldn't nurses have a rise as well? They do as much as firefighters in saving lives, if not more. They also work unsociable hours.
Think yourselves lucky you are in a job.
I agree you do risk your lives but a majority of people who work also risk their lives. So come on, stop being selfish and get back to work and stop risking more lives by going on strike.
Think of others and not yourselves.
