GOAL machine Rob Hulse believes maximum points from the next two games can give the Alex a sniff of the Division Two title.

Crewe's leading scorer with an impressive tally of 24 to his name says the team is focused on three points at Chesterfield to tee up a massive table-topping clash at home to Wigan on Tuesday night.

"We were all very disappointed that the game was called off on Saturday," he revealed.

"We'd spent all week preparing for it but what can you do?

"I'm pleased the game has been rearranged so quickly.

"It doesn't usually happen like that but I prefer it to be next week rather than later in the season."

First up, it's the Spireites though and Hulse feels it should be a better game than the disappointing home 0-0'er, last September.

"I think they'll come out more being at home," he continued.

"It'll be a big game for them, they need the points to make sure of staying up.

"It's this time of the season when you can get funny results as teams are scrapping.

"You can never predict a result but we'll treat them with respect and look to get the three points."

Providing all goes to plan, the 24-year-old striker feels Crewe will then be fired up to beat and peg back the Division Two leaders.

"Hopefully we can go into the game with a win," he added.

"All the lads know the last match against Wigan wasn't a fair contest, the referee spoiled it.

"They wouldn't be where they are if they were a bunch of mugs but they are beatable.

"We're all determined to go up automatically as we know anything can happen when it gets to the play-offs.

"We haven't really thought about the championship because Wigan have been flying and it looked like it was just the second spot that was up for grabs but if we can beat them on Tuesday, that puts them in range.

"Then we'll be looking to win every game and we'll have a chance of being champions."
