WANTAWAY Linnets midfielder, Gary Lunt, this week completed a move from his hometown club, writes Craig McIntosh.
The 20-year-old ended a two-year stint with the club after agreeing a free transfer to Kidsgrove Rovers, of Stoke.
The attacker joined Runcorn following his release from Crewe Alexandra in 2001 and scored his first hat-trick in a spectacular performances against Gateshead in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.
The deal is not believed to have anything to do with the player's disappearance earlier this month, in which he failed to report for the match with Accrington Stanley.
It will, however, be one less demand on the cash-strapped club's wage bill, with manager Liam Watson currently said to be open to offers on virtually any player in his squad.
