A SPECTACULAR new tour of the epic musical Fiddler on the Roof stops at Hanley's Regent Theatre from Monday.
Described as 'exhilarating, joyous and inspiring', the drama runs at the venue all next week.
The performance features screen star Paul Nicholas in the lead role of the man who dreams of riches, respect and a quiet family life.
An all-time Broadway favourite and winner of nine Tony and three Academy Awards, Fiddler on the Roof is packed with some of the best-loved songs in the history of musicals.
With hits such as If I Were A Rich Man, Matchmaker, Matchmaker and Miracle of Miracles, the show struck such a chord with audiences, that it became one of the longest running productions on Broadway.
In a Jewish village in Czarist Russia, dairyman Tevye, played by Nicholas, is doing his best to preserve tradition in the face of a changing world.
But when his daughters refuse the matchmaker's advice and marry for love, Tevye must choose between their happiness and those beloved traditions.
Fiddler on the Roof is blessed with a gloriously rousing score full of memorable melodies, bound by a moving and compelling storyline, heart-warming humour and colourful characters.
Jerome Robbins' dramatic original choreography, wonderfully evocative sets and costumes, add the finishing touches to a classic performance.
Tickets are available from the box office on 01782 213 800.
