TRITON hockey men maintained their outside chance of promotion on Saturday with a comfortable 4-1 home win.
The victory leaves them 10 points behind second-placed Plas Coch, with five games left to play.
Plas Coch need two more wins to ensure they cannot be caught by Triton, who are unbeaten in 12 games.
Triton took the lead on Saturday against mid-table Wilmslow on 12 minutes though Phil Cort.
They doubled the lead shortly after when Simon Cruxton fired home.
Wilmslow pulled one back just before half-time after a rare attack, only for Triton to make it 3-1 on 47 minutes.
Carl Deaville was the scorer, his 16th of the season.
Andy Stubbs hit his side's fourth five minutes from time from the penalty spot.
Triton 2nds won 4-1 at home to Neston South Wirrall, with two goals for leading scorer Tom Chaddock and strikes for Simon Hulson and Martin Gregory.
Clare Edgington and Tracy Crump scored for Triton Ladies as they lost 3-2 at Stone.
Triton 1st X1 travel to Winnington Park tomorrow, the 2nds are at Bebington and Triton Ladies travel to Tamworth.
