A YOUNG shooting star from Newton has landed a top role on a BBC drama at the tender age of six.

Talented tot Kirsty Rimmer, from Hillside Avenue, was plucked from thousands of kids who attended an audition in Birmingham to appear in the daytime TV soap Doctors.

Kirsty really impressed the audition panel with her amazing ability to remember all of her lines off by heart. Instantly stunned, the casting director declared she was perfect for the role.

Kirsty is already becoming something of a seasoned veteran in the world of showbiz despite her youth. At the age of four, Kirsty won Warrington's 'Charming Child' competition, which led to a contract with the Eurokids agency.

Since joining the agency, Kirsty's career has soared. She has appeared in the smash comedy-drama Cold Feet and starred in a TV advert campaign for Barbie Motorbike before she turned five.

She has also appeared frequently in glossy catalogues, modelling for the likes of Argos and Index.

Kirsty's parents, Debbie and Andy, are rightly very proud of their daughter, who has achieved so much in such a short period of time. They recently enrolled her at Grappenhall's Stagecoach stage school to develop her talent.

The child star's dream is to land more TV work and appear in a Disney movie.
