THE Eye is the latest movie by the acclaimed Pang brothers, current darlings of the Cantonese, Mandarin and Thai film worlds.
It's the story of Mun, who went blind at the age of two, but after 18 years of darkness gets the chance to see with a risky corneal transplant operation.
But Mun is about to enter a world darker than any she experienced when she was without sight. She encounters mysterious strangers and when she looks in the mirror the face looking back at her is not her own.
Some critics have said The Eye is more frightening than The Sixth Sense and even The Exorcist, and while I think that's a tad generous, it is nevertheless rather chilling.
With English language subtitles.
