I AM writing about parking in Earlestown. The problem is on certain roads in the town centre, the corner of Bridge Street and Haydock Street opposite the Post Office. Cars are parked on double yellow lines, they park on both sides of Haydock Street, they even block the bus stops on both sides of the road.

They also park outside the police station and toilets both sides. The buses have problems getting up or down Haydock Street.

It's a disgrace. Surely something can be done or is it that blue badge holders can park where they want to.

Who is liable?

I would like to know what would happen if a bus passenger gets off the bus in the middle of the road and fell because the driver couldn't get to the pavement to unload properly. Who is liable, the bus company, the council for allowing the parking, or the police or even maybe the car owner?

Isn't it time these roads are left clear for the buses to get up and down safely. It's worse on Monday, Friday and Saturday.
