WARRINGTON Rowing Club hosted their annual winter time trial at the River Mersey on Saturday with clubs attending from all over the north west.

Success for Warrington came mainly from their strong junior section.

Three crews from Lymm High School led the way with an impressive performance in the J13 quads.

It was only the girls' second race and it proved what good progress they are making.

Next up was Nick Halford and he quickly wrapped up the junior singles title.

Not to be left out Jenny Argent and Hannah Unsworth dispatched their opposition to win J14 double sculls.

The seniors also had a good day.

Graham Atherton, Stuart Shaw, Anita Dodd, Gill Ledger, Sian Henrys, Sue Briggs, Jo Brundred, Francesca Barker, Hanah Derbyshire, Ann-Marrie Martindale, Sian Sinnott and cox Steve Coxen all recorded wins in their various sections.

Meanwhile, the club is offering young adults six weeks of free membership and instruction on Sunday mornings at their Kingsway Bridge headquarters.

Anyone interested should report to the club at 10.30am.
