COUNCILLORS have been vindicated after a planning appeal victory over the former Swan garage site in Hollins Green.
Because it was felt proposals for four homes with garages would be 'too oppressive' for the site, at The Weint, the borough council's development control committee refused planning permission.
This was despite planning officers recommending the scheme for approval.
Now a planning inspector has backed the committee's decision, dismissing an appeal by developers and agreeing that the homes would be 'overbearing and intrusive' for neighbours.
