BRITISH Rail hit the buffers at Richmonds with Carl Hughes leading the way for the Friday Division One side in the Warrington Independent Darts League.

Hughes was Richmonds' top winner in a 7-1 annihilation.

However, the best throwing of the night came from Paul Robinson.

His 11-dart performance helped Smithys to beat Butchers Arms 6-3 but he had good support from Garth McClean, 12, Rod Bamford, 13 and Dave Russell, 14.

Penketh Sports and Social ran amok 7-2 against Kings Club in Friday Division Two.

Leo McDonnell, 14 and Mike Street, 15, stood out.

Throwing was also consistently good among top winners in Monday's games.

Paul Forshaw, 15 and Tony Murphy, 16, hit the high notes for British Rail as they shunted aside Jolly Tanner 5-3.

New Alliance won by the same score at home to Dog and Partridge with Bryan Hartley shining in 15 darts.

Farmers Arms' Steve Roberts helped his side to a 5-4 success story at Penketh Cons with a 15-dart show.

A 15-darter by Paul Hitchen aided Penketh Sports and Social as they got to grips with Gas to beat them 5-4.

Hawthorne and their star man Eddie Pickering were in top form.

Hawthorne defeated Red Lion 7-2 and Pickering hit the mark with a 13-darter.

Jack Alcock also chipped in with a 15 darts win.

Another 13-dart winner was Tommy Griffiths for Imperial in a 6-3 defeat of Smithys.

Nev Thompson provided excellent support in 16 darts.
