Mr James Lord, husband of Mrs Margaret Lord, died on January 16, aged 75.
Mr Lord, of Parkdale Road, Paddington, was born in Lymm and lived in Paddington for 46 years.
He was last employed at Thames Board Mills for 43 years, and during the war he served in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, in Italy.
Mr Lord enjoyed fishing, holidays abroad, reading, pottering in his garden, watching cricket, and he supported Manchester City Football Club.
He leaves his wife, a sister, a brother, two nephews and a niece.
A service was held on January 24 at Walton Lea, followed by cremation. Mr J D Cook officiated.
Arrangements were made by Co-operative Funeral Services.
