LYMM'S impressive winning streak continued on Saturday with a dominant display against Broughton Park in Rugby Football Union Powergen North Two West.

It puts Lymm in bouyant mood for their massive Powergen Intermediate Cup quarter-final showdown with Penrith at Beechwood on Saturday, kick-off 2.30pm.

They are currently two games away from a cup final appearance at Twickenham.

Lymm took the lead in their 34-15 away win against Broughton when centre John Millachip followed up his own kick to intercept a pass and skate over. Paul Thatcher, who was a thorn in Park's side throughout with his immaculate touchline kicking, converted and then added a penalty goal.

The home side hit back with a converted try before Lymm's wily scrum half Chris Kinsey sold Broughton's defence an outrageous dummy to touch down between the posts.

Thatcher added the extras and he was on target again when veteran team coach Dave Reed extended Lymm's lead with a try on half-time.

With the slope and breeze on their backs, Broughton put Lymm under pressure at the start of the second half and they were rewarded with a penalty goal.

Lymm replied with a penalty goal of their own via Thatcher and their forwards then took command with Simon Wright and Rob Calderbank particularly outstanding.

Martin Bower wrapped up Lymm's victory with a superb try following fine build-up play by S. Wright, J. Millachip and Peter Hayes.

Thatcher was again on target with the boot before Broughton scored a late consolation try.
