BUGSY Malone rubs shoulders with Tarzan and Swan Lake at a dance spectacular next week.

A cast of 120 young people will be showing off their dance steps over three nights at the Daneside Theatre in Congleton.

The show is the third staged by Jo-Anne Bayley from Biddulph Moor, who has her own dance school.

Her debut show was called Celebration, last year's was entitled Take Centre Stage, and this year's is called Grand Slam after the lyrics in the opening number.

The cast ranges in age from two to 65, and includes Alma Burton from Biddulph Moor, her two daughters and granddaughter Gemma.

The show is due to last for two and a half hours, and features ballet, tap, disco, street dance and gym dance.

"The show is a chance for the young people to show off their talent, and is also an opportunity to boost their confidence," said Jo-Anne.

"It's a fun show with something for everyone and all ages, and will appeal to anyone who enjoys a good show.

"I have choreographed the various routines, which includes numbers from Swan Lake and Bugsy Malone and a dance with a Tarzan theme.

"Everyone in the school is taking part, and they really enjoy the chance of showing off for their parents."

Jo-Anne studied for three years at the Northern Ballet School, and holds classes at the Daneside and Biddulph Moor Village Hall.

Grand Slam runs from February 27 to March 1, and for tickets ring Jo-Anne on 01782-515046.
