BOLD kept their promotion hopes alive with this great win against Shaw after getting off to a great start.

Bold scored in the first minute when Lee Bolton broke away to send winger Carl Anders in at the corner.

From the restart good handling from Wes Singleton and Paul Rigby produced the fist of five tries from man of the match hooker Ian Honey.

The next chance fell to Neil Babbs who broke the defence to run 40 yards to score converted by Darren Anders.

Shaw could not get out of their own half and after constant pressure Ian Honey scored again taking a well timed pass from Dave Hill to score beneath the posts. On the stroke of half time Ian Honey broke away from the Shaw defence to score his third try.

In the second half Shaw had no answer to the rugby Bold were playing with young prop Andy O'Dowd and second row Ian Lynch making good yards.

Bold were rampant at this stage and they scored again when that man Ian Honey took a good pass from Dave Scott to score his fourth try.

In the last ten minutes Neil Babbs scored his second try but it was left to Ian Honey to complete the scoring for Bold going over for his fifth try.

There was a late consolation try for Shaw who were never in the game.

Grundy Excavations man of the match went to Ian Honey with Darren Anders, Dave Scott and Andy O'Dowd playing well.
