Vulcan Reserves 2
Sidac 4
WITH Vulcan's first team fixture postponed the reserves were able to select from a full pool of players for their Warrington Soccer League Reg Oliver Cup first round tie and drew first blood.
A break from Henshaw fed player boss Lomas, who finished clinically to give Vulcan the edge in the first half.
Other chances were created but Vulcan found Sidac's goalkeeper to be in top form.
A much more entertaining second half followed.
Sidac broke free and should have been awarded a penalty when Walkden mis-timed his tackle.
Moments later the referee awarded Vulcan a penalty for handball. The spot kick was dispatched and Vulcan went 2-0 up.
Five minutes later Sidac scrambled the ball home from a corner to give them a lifeline.
Sidac started to gain control of the ball more and more. They equalised from a free kick and did not look back as they countered for their third and fourth.
Vulcan player manager Lomas was happy despite the scoreline: "We passed the ball better than them but our poor finishing is what cost us the game."
Vulcan Football Club earlier this week launched their official website which can be found at www.vulcanfc.tk. The site gives a great insight to the club.
