It's on, it's off, it's on again. I ain't singing Status Quo, Mike Tyson's big comeback against Clifford Etienne is go, at least for the moment.

Scheduled to take place in Memphis on Saturday, apparently flu and a stomach illness forced the 36 year-old former world champion to cancel

That was Monday.

Now he's done a U-turn, flown back to Memphis and says he's ready to fight. As usual we won't know what the hell is happening until you see both men in that ring, early hours Sunday morning.

I had intended to give this bout a wide berth on principle, but as it's almost here, I know I can't stay away.

I'll confess, I'm eager to see the upset, I want to see 'The Black Rhino' have his hand raised!

How funny would it be to see the Lewis Tyson rematch justified on the back of such a defeat.

One thing's for sure if there is a shock, Etienne won't be taking his place against Len in the summer.

From what's been said it would appear Tyson has prepared poorly for this fight and wanted out.

It's probably taken some convincing, but this is his only chance of selling that mammoth second payday against our WBC champ. At least in the eyes of the TV networks, hence the U-turn.

To me, even a crushing victory over Etienne wouldn't convince me that Lewis Tyson II is a worthwhile showcase for Heavyweight Boxing.

It's become crystal clear that Lennox is hanging around for a decent retirement package. The rematch has all the makings of Boxing's biggest farce of all time. Purely about money, it'll be a shame to see Lewis go out like that.

Emmanuel Steward (Lewis' trainer) made some noises about Len taking one more fight in Britain, maybe against one of the Klitschko brothers, to end his career in front of his home fans.

Now that idea I like.

Go out in style, passing the mantle by beating probably a future World Champion. That will cement his legacy, not a rematch with Tyson.

As for Tyson, well he doesn't deserve another bumper payday. If he can't be bothered to train, why should the public be bothered to cough up for the PPV and tickets?

It seems winning has become unnecessary for Tyson, he just wants to get in the ring and pick up the cheque.

That's when it gets all too dangerous. The sport has had enough of a rough ride through him without it ending in tragedy.
