THE Millstone mean machine keeps on rolling in Earlestown Darts League Division Two.

This week they hammered high flying St. Davids 7-2 and are in with a shout of winning the race for the title in their debut season.

The star performers for Millstone, who are proving to be a breath of fresh air, were Dave Lawrenson, Keith Hill, Phil Boyers, John Kenny, Paul Boyers, S. Taylor and Bart O'Sullivan.

Eric Broughton and Andy Brown recorded wins for St. Davids.

Championship contenders Old Crow trounced luckless Railway 8-1 on the back of the good form of Alan Baines, 53 darts, Dave Clarke, 24, Kevin Boughey, 25, Ray Doolan, 22, Will Fisher, 26, John Doolan, 16, Stuart Austin, 32 and Kenny Williams, 40.

Keith Mellor's 37-darter against Glyn Jones represented Railway's only success.

Top four hopefuls Victoria suffered a disastrous 5-3 defeat at the hands of Newmarket.

Ste Pilling, 35, Damien Jones, 42, Gareth Ward, 46, Kevin Phillips, 51 and Paul Nolan, 20, were the heroes of the hour for Newmarket.

Ste Rawlinson, 35, Ste Hodkinson, 45 and Mike Adams, 24, shone for Victoria.

Rams Head had a field day against Houghton Arms.

They coasted to a 6-3 win thanks to John Hughes, 36, Kyle Newsome, 39, Ste Pierce, 30, Jason Swift, 22, Dave Walkden, 23 and Graham Kenwright, 61.

Dave Hill, Rod Young and Fred Horan replied for Houghton.

BRSA A had a tough battle against Wellington.

The A team won the game by the skin of their teeth courtesy of good throwing by Ron Purnell, 23, Arthur Critchley, 41, Keith Fishwick, 22, Neil Forshaw, 33 and match winner Billy Booth, 30.

Les Banner, 30, Derek Garton, 33, Jim Deardon, 20 and John McClymont, 18, were the Wellington players who did themselves proud.
