AN ambitious inventor from Bewsey looks set to take the golfing world by storm with his latest creation.

Steven Gerard-Hayden, aged 42, of Gerrard Avenue, is hoping to get a worldwide patent on his Exten-tee extendable golf tee, which he claims is the first of its kind.

He has signed a contract with Cavendish Management Resources (CMR), which is working to get the worldwide patent on top of the British one the product has already got, and 10,000 of the tees have been manufactured so far.

If the Exten-tee takes off, the smell of success is even sweeter for Steven, as he says his last invention, the Teemole, caused him to lose out on potential millions of pounds due to a design fault.

He says: "I amassed worldwide orders on the Teemole and had it patented, but the guy that made the tool made it wrong and there were 19 design faults on it."

But the dedicated inventor has refused to give up, and following on from Exten-tee, will be working on a number of projects.

He says: "I am an ideas man. I am currently working on a portable chipping green and looking into the future hope to create a new kind of driving range two tiers high.

"I am also writing a book about homelessness and alcoholism, but that's another story!"
