POLICE are investigating a massage parlour used by men seeking sex. Officers plan to use information supplied by the Knutsford Guardian.

During an undercover investigation, a Guardian reporter was offered sex five times by a Swedish blonde in a room above a bathroom showroom in King Street after paying £60 for a half-hour massage.

At last week's town council meeting concerns were first raised about the Miss Behaving massage parlour. "We do not want to have a red light district in Knutsford," said Clr Jennifer Holbrook.

"The police are aware of the situation and they say action is being taken."

Last week the undercover Guardian reporter contacted Miss Behaving and was told that their women offered special services that they could not mention over the phone.

When he attended a massage appointment at 109A King Street our reporter was offered numerous sexual services for the £60 fee after being told that it was safe because the girls had been tested.

The 26-year-old masseuse said many married men visited the flat for sex and when the reporter asked only for a massage she said: "I do not know what to do with you then."

On Monday Clr Holbrook said many residents had contacted her to express concerns about the business.

"There have been people complaining about it who are very upset," said Clr Holbrook.

"It is a sleazy business. There is a residential area nearby and they do not want that type of thing.

"This is serious stuff. We do not want a red light district in the town." Last week traders near the massage parlour said they were shocked by the Guardian's revelations.

"I just thought it was a very busy office," said a pub manager, who asked not to be named. "We have seen lots of people - mostly men - going in and out." But at the council meeting Clr George Walton raised concerns about reporting details about the massage parlour in the press. "This is something we have been aware of for some time," he said.

"I hope the Knutsford Guardian does not take this up because the business in question should not be given any more publicity."

Clr Walton agreed with other councillors that they should contact Macclesfield Borough Council to question the company's planning arrangement at 109A King Street.

On Monday Knutsford police said they could not release any details about their investigation until it was complete.

"We will pass the information you have supplied on to the person who is involved in the investigation," said Knutsford's Sgt Kevin Fryer.

As the Guardian went to press, no one at Miss Behaving was available to comment.
