SUTTON scored an emphatic win at Wavertree on Saturday.
After losing the toss, Sutton were invited to bat on a good looking wicket and opener Mike Rimmer played some superb shots all around the wicket.
Gary Greener anchored at the other end, putting on a 68 partnership for the first wicket before being caught for a gritty 7.
With Rimmer on song Milind Tamane was content to take the singles. And Rimmer's 50 came up with a six and then he powered on to his century before being dismissed for 135.
Tamane finsished on 86 not out as Sutton declared on 253-2 from 45.
In reply Wavertree had np answers to the pace of Phil Frost and John Allanson or the spin of Mark Reynolds and were bowled out for 137.
Sutton's seconds drew with Cheshire Lines. Dave Cunningham and Stuart Rimmer grabbed four wickets each as Lines were bowled out for 157.
Sutton struggled in reply with only Les Greener (30) and Gary Frost 22 n.o making any impression. Sutton finished on 112-8.
