FAME is fast arriving for Lucy Meggit from Northwich - a member of the Fast Food Rockers, the girl-boy-girl trio who are taking the pop world by storm.

Their first single the catchy Fast Food Song is tipped for the top although it is not released until Monday, June 16.

The song's chorus has been around for many years and is much loved favourite of Guides and Brownies.

The song has been brought up to date and set to music by Mike Stock, of Stock Aitkin and Waterman fame.

It has already reached number one in The Box music channel charts for the second week running.

Lucy, aged 21, of Middlewich Road is staggered by the success, which has arrived just six months after the band was formed.

She said: "It has been very exciting. We have been touring the country and doing radio and television interviews.

"I'm absolutely gobsmacked at how quickly it has all come together.

"We are all just having a great time."

Lucy studied at St Nicholas RC High School in Hartford and the London Studio Centre.

Her career has taken her from West End jazz shows to performances with dance legend Wayne Sleep.

Lucy said the group is already recording a second single and there are plans for an album next year.

She admits her favourite food is fish, chips, peas and onions. She loves eating and shopping but hates seafood.

Lucy added: "I miss Northwich. I really love coming home."

l The Fast Food Rockers say they are not promoting fast food but are promoting a catchy poppy song, with an easy to learn dance.

As far as nutrition is concerned they will be ensuring their audiences are left in no doubt as to the importance of healthy eating.
