RESIDENTS in Palacefields can now check doorstep callers' identities without even opening the door, thanks to a revolutionary new security gadget.
Under a new initiative from Halton Council and funding from the Guinness Trust, 101 homes in the area have been fitted with Identislot - in an effort to stop bogus callers from getting into people's homes.
The slot, which is fitted into the front door of a property, is designed so that people on the outside can slide any identification through for the resident to check before opening the door.
Identislot works with all agencies, including health professionals to share knowledge, good practices and ideas to ensure that the individual needs of the community are catered for.
