I AM not writing to have a moan about recent poor Saints performances. I do not pay heed to all the rumours that are presently doing the rounds. The coach and players will, I am sure, be able to resolve the current situation. At present the TV pundits are having a ball.

I am more concerned for the future development of the club in general. After seeing the new Kingston Stadium, the JJB, the Halton and Salford's plans for a super complex I feel that fans are once again being let down by a club who over the years has promised much but delivered little.

During the game against the Broncos the foul weather sent us scurrying under the Edington stand. This made me realise the dilapidated decaying state of the ground and surrounding area. Peeling paint on stand supports that haven't been touched in years. Grey mud under foot behind the main stand and the exits at the Edington end. An overall depressing sight compared to the new look grounds elsewhere in Super League.

Improvements were promised at the end of last season but I'm afraid a lick of paint in the gents toilets does not amount to much.

We are in danger of being left behind and it is clear the club and the council need to get their act together if the town's best asset does not start crumbling down before this fan's very eyes.
