IN reply to the letter from Proud St Hellener 'It costs nothing to be nice' (Dear Star, May 29). Is this person walking around with their eyes closed? I too can remember being young, but I did not walk around town drinking bottles of wine, begging for spare change or look like I was on drugs.
You can't walk down Church Street without being asked if you have had an accident in the last 15 feet since the last rep asked you and every week in the Star the police are asking for witnesses to some assault, sexual or violent.
So stop living in the past and have a good look about you when your next in town. St Helens used to be a town you could be proud of but it is changing.
