DURING this special Volunteers Week, I am writing today to acknowledge the outstanding work the volunteer helpers at St Helens and Knowsley Dysphasia Support do each week.
They freely give their time and commitment to helping people with a communication problem. They encourage, motivate, prompt but most of all support people at a very difficult time in their lives.
Does all this sound a bit like hard work? Well it may be, but boy do we have fun! We have quizzes, raffles, we play cards, have speakers and entertainers and much, much more.
If you think this sounds like something you would like to be a part of and can spare two hours each week, please give Sue Woodcock a call on St Helens 01744 458349 and come and join us and have some fun.
But, back to the main reason for writing. A very big Thank You goes out to all the helpers. This comes from The Stroke Association, Sue Woodcock (organiser of Dysphasia Support), but most of all from the people you help, your friends who attend the group or have a home visitor through St Helens and Knowsley Dysphasia Support.
Sue Woodcock, organiser of Dysphasia Support, St Helens and Knowsley Hospitals NHS Trust.
