I WISH to voice my concerns through your letters page regarding the proposed Burgy Bank development.

Do you pass or use the East Lancashire Road Junction at Carr Mill or Green Leech?

Do you travel past the Haresfinch roundabout?

Do you believe that the traffic is bad enough around there now? Or is that an understatement?

Well did you know that due to start, as early as January 2004, is a development of 431 houses destroying 30-year-old wildlife ecological development and open space of the Burgy Bank.

If each house was to have two cars, this is 862 vehicles spilling onto Chain Lane, Laffak Road, Haresfinch and the East Lancashire Road not to mention the lorries while the building takes place.

We will all have to put up with the traffic chaos for the rest of our lives simply to allow a few people with enough money to have an instant woodland home.

This can be stopped. For the same amount of time it will take you to get through the extra traffic on the very first day, you can contact the council, your local councillor, or your MP objecting on traffic, environmental and/or other grounds.

If you don't, I will be seeing you in my rear view mirror each and every day tapping your steering wheel and looking at your watch.

JOHN Lawrenson, Hinckley Road, St Helens.
