POLICE are looking for a man who dragged a teenager off his scooter, stole his crash helmet and then made off on the victim's vehicle.

The incident happened at 2.30pm on Friday May 30 when the 17-year-old man was driving his scooter on Park Lane in Higher Walton, near to the reservoir.

He was forced to stop by another man who pushed the rider off the bike, pulled off his helmet, put it on himself and then drove off towards the main Chester Road.

The man is described as being white, about 17-years-old, slim with a skinhead and dark stubble and wearing a blue and light blue striped shirt, blue shorts and brown sandals.

He stole a black Aprillia SR125 scooter, its number plate read V913G6H.

Police think that the offender was part of a gang of youths who drove after him in two vehicles.

Detectives are looking for a white Ford Mondeo and a blue Ford Transit van - the victim partially remembered the number plates as L960G and M550 respectively.
