POLICE officers are warning elderly residents to be on their guard following reports of bogus official burglaries in Aston Road, Newton, Dawson Avenue, St Helens and Hall Lane in Compton.
Up to three males were involved in the incidents, in which one claims to be from the water board and distracts the owner while the other two ransack the premises.
In all cases where a door to door inquiry is made, police recommend people to be vigilant.
