IF you're easily offended and take the moral stance that all drugs are evil, then steer clear of this film.

Former drugs baron Howard Marks' autobiography was a massive bestseller and this is a record of the sell-out tour of that book, Mr Nice.

I have to hold my hand up here and admit I got Howard Marks mixed up with the shock jock Howard Stern, so when I agreed to review this tape I sat down expecting the loudmouth American DJ to come bounding on to the screen.

What I got was a Rolling Stones-like, foul-mouthed Welshman spouting on about how great smoking dope is.

It is an amusing journey you go on with Marks - as long as you are prepared to be non-judgemental about the whole thing. If you're not, you'll jettison the tape out of a very high window.

While this is Marks' paean to drugs culture and rebellion, I found it sad and cautionary too.

Marks has lived a colourful and dangerous life and he has an interesting story to tell.

But he's perhaps best taken in small doses.
