A STOCKTON Heath councillor is putting the finish touches to a one-act play that will be appearing on stage at Chester Gateway Theatre next week.

And this isn't the first brush with fame for Clr Sue Dodd as she has seen several of her shows and plays performed over the past few years.

Sue's play One Eyed Kings features four

people who share a house and looks at the differences between how these characters see themselves and how other people see them.

Sue, who lives on Fairfield Road in Stockton Heath, said: "I wrote the play in short bursts which probably only added up to about two weeks' work, but the ideas have been forming for around two years."

The plays includes a prostitute who

thinks she's a high class call girl, a mysterious foreign student, a middle aged woman with a hidden secret and a journalist looking for a story.

Sue has written numerous plays for schools and amateur drama groups and her credits include To Boldly Go, Jigsaw and An Issue of Public Standards.

Brilliant

Sue said: "It's always marvellous having your play on stage and the process of being able to work with actors and a director is brilliant.

"It's exciting when someone else works with your work because they often see things that perhaps you've missed.

"You find the actors asking you questions and they put you on the spot, which means you end up with a better production."

One Eyed Kings will be on at Chester Gateway from Wednesday, June 18. For tickets call the box office on 01244 340392.
