A BOY from Bridgewater High School reeled in a record catch when he went fishing during a recent exchange trip in America.
Jonathan Clarke, aged 14, of Chalfont Avenue, went angling with his American friend Davey Campbell at Martha's Vineyard.
After deciding to fish in Uncle Seth's pond, Jonathan amazed locals by landing a record-sized freshwater bass - weighing 9.5lb and measuring 21 inches.
This was the biggest fish ever caught at the popular angling spot and a ceramic model, made from a cast of the fish, was last week brought over by an American exchange student to commemorate the catch.
The boys were participating in the well-established annual exchange between Bridgewater High School and West Tisbury High School.
