VOLUNTEERS at a charity shop in Latchford prepared themselves for a big leaflet drop last week in order to recruit more helpers to assist them with their work.
Age Concern, on Knutsford Road, launched the campaign during Volunteers' Week 2003 to highlight the services that it provides.
Volunteers conduct computer tutorials and befriending schemes and help with things like home safety, healthy lifestyles and mentoring.
The shop is currently setting up a new scheme that will include a trusted traders' register, to recommend reliable traders to the public.
There will also be assisted trips to the shops and a telephone befriending service to help isolated people.
