A FUND-RAISING team at Leighton Hospital that has provided over £650,000 for staff and patients celebrates its 30th anniversary on Monday.
The League of Friends was founded in 1973, shortly after the hospital was opened and has raised money for the purchasing of equipment and comforts for the benefit of patients and staff, helping to bring the most advanced methods of treatment available to local residents.
And to celebrate, the voluntary organisation is holding a special birthday celebration at Crewe Alexandra's Gresty Road ground where it will be holding a giant tombola and raffle to continue raising funds for staff and patients.
