LYMM stood up well to the test of facing Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League Division One leaders Mere at home on Saturday.
The hosts needed 10 runs to win off the remaining two balls but ended up drawing and achieving eight points.
On the penultimate bowl, Karl Wright's pulled shot seemed destined for six runs but the ball was parried before being held superbly by the Mere fielder at fine leg.
Lymm finished on 173 runs for seven wickets in their chase of Mere's 180-7.
Andy Wright's third 50 in four games was a feature of Lymm's innings, along with Ian Conway's 44 and Chris Bone's 34.
Earlier, when Mere had threatened to build a formidable total, leg spinner Phil Whealen and Karl Wright got stuck into them to take a flurry of wickets. Whealen finished with the best bowling figures of three wickets for 70 runs.
