KING and Queen A stayed in top spot in Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association Red Line Recruitment Monday League's Section A after cruising to victory in their clash of the titans with St. Oswalds A.

They trounced second-placed St. Oswalds 10-4. They were inspired by the individual brilliance of Dave Penketh, 21-7 and Duncan Wright, 21-9.

Third-placed Grange A also recorded a 10-4 success this week. Brooklands A provided the opposition.

Grange's star players were Alf Clemo, 21-6 and Brian Welsby, 21-8, while Keith Bate took Brooklands' sweep 21-8.

Alford Hall A hammered Farmers A 12-2. Their best winners were Bernard Carroll and Jimmy Ure, 21-6.

Grange B took over at the top of Section B after a 13-1 triumph at the expense of Hollins Park B. Ken Forster, 21-6 and Ken Tipping, 21-7, were the men on form for Grange.

Second-placed Monk Sports A trounced Eagle A 12-2. Their best performers were P. Peters and Peter Quinn, who shared the sweep with 21-7 cards.

Stunning 21-7 cards by J. Barnes and Harry Massey helped to give Bulls Head A an 8-6 win against Monk Hall while Red Lion A's 9-6 success at Richmonds included John Robinson's 21-6 sweep winner and Kenny Ashton's 21-8 card.

Section C leaders Rylands C defeated Cadishead 9-5 on their own patch. Rylands' shinning lights were Roy Mather, 21-5 and Charlie Grimes, 21-7.

Post Office won 10-5 at Brit Rail to move into third. D. Gorton took their sweep with a 21-11 card.

Wins from D. Newton, 21-4, Ted Ryder and Ronnie Melbourne, 21-8, helped St. Oswalds B to a 12-2 victory over Saracens Head.

Farmers B's 12-2 win against Tetley B included quality cards from Ian Higgin, 21-6, G. Catterall, 21-8 and N. Parr, 21-9. Paul Webster took the visitors' sweep 21-9.

Section D leaders King and Queen B recorded a 9-6 success against Fiddlers Ferry while second-placed Burtonwood A defeated Culcheth A 9-6. Their top winners were A. Carr, 21-10 and A. Critchley, 21-11.

Pierpoints A enjoyed a comfortable 12-3 win at Crosfields. They were indebted to Tony Wightman, 21-8, Wilf Hands and Paul Tipping, 21-10.

Brian Turner, 21-8 and Peter Jackson, 21-9, were the star performers in Stag A's 11-4 victory at Hollins Park A.
