WARRINGTON angler Stuart Conroy will be setting his sights on a third successive world championship medal after England selectors gave him the thumbs up for Slovakia.
The 33-year-old has been selected in a squad of 11 for England's bid for glory in the World Angling Championships on September 13 and 14 on a canalised stretch of water near Madunice, 40 miles from Bratislava, Slovakia.
He will have plenty of world championship experience to call upon after helping England to team gold in France in 2001 and winning an individual bronze medal in Portugal in 2002.
Warrington Anglers' Association and Lymm Angling Club member Conroy has also been given the nod to represent his country in the European Angling Championships on July 12 and 13.
The competition will take place on a 40 metres wide river in Assen, Holland.
