BLUES travellers from around the UK will be heading to Warrington for the second annual rhythm and blues festival this Saturday, June 14.
Sir Thomas Boteler High will be the venue for the cream of the R&B circuit, with Connie Lush and Blues Shouter headlining the afternoon set and the Paul Cox Big Band rounding off the proceedings.
Bring along your boogie shoes is the message from promoters Warrington R&B Club - Marcus Malone Band, Bacwater Blues and Smokehouse Blues, Honeyboy Hickling and the DTs and High Legh's own slide guitar master Tom Doughty are also on the bill.
In a minor coup, organisers have also tempted ex-Blues Corporation guitarist Nicky Moore out of retirement for an acoustic set with son, Tim.
For late tickets and information, contact Ray O'Hare on 488009. Doors open at 1.30pm with a festival bar and blues canteen lined up.
