PUPILS at Great Sankey High School said 'guten tag' as they welcomed this year's German exchange visitors.
Trips to Chester, Manchester, Southport and Liverpool all took place as part of the itinerary of events for the European guests, who travelled from the Freiherr vom Stein Gymnasium school in Rosrath, near Cologne.
The Great Sankey pupils then made the trip to visit their German friends, enjoying a tour of Cologne and trips to a chocolate museum and a theme park, as well as experiencing a day in a German school.
Lisa Hirani, teacher at Great Sankey High School, said: "It has been a great experience for everyone involved.
"Families got on really well with German pupils and we are looking forward to next year's exchange."
