TICKETS have gone on sale for this year's Lymm Festival as the final line-up for the fifth annual event is unveiled.

Once again the village will be bursting with concerts, performances, exhibitions and events ranging from music to poetry and comedy to storytelling.

Four special exhibitions will be held in the Methodist Church Hall on Eagle Brow - featuring the results of a photographic competition and a creative writing competition.

As previously reported in the Guardian there will also be a display of Christening robes and accessories and a display of teddy bears lent by children and adults across the village.

The festival gets under way at the end of this month with the Street Food and Fun Fest on Thursday, June 26 starting at 6pm in the village centre. While the 10-day-long festivities will draw to an end on Saturday, July 5 with a picnic in the atmospheric surroundings of Lymm Hall.

This year will see many more young people getting involved in events, with a concert by Lymm Young Voices, a choir only formed last year but already making a name for themselves and also the Young Music Makers who are groups of young talented instrumentalists.

Major sponsors for the event include Manchester Airport, Linden Homes and JW Lees while prizes have come from Lymm.net, Wrights of Lymm and Jessops.

Tickets are on sale now from Stephanie's the Florist, The Cross, Rushgreen Service Station on Rushgreen Road or the festival box office which opens in the village hall annexe from June 21. There is also a box office answer phone available on 759128.

Programmes are available in libraries and retail outlets in Lymm or by visiting www.lymmfestival.com. Keep reading the Guardian for full coverage
