Mr Frederick James Hewitt, husband of Mrs Mavis Hewitt, died on April 15 of heart failure. He was 66.
Mr Hewitt, of Corbet Avenue, Orford, lived in Warrington all his life.
He served an apprenticeship at Roberts shoe repairers, followed by his Army national service in Benghazi, Africa, then was last employed as a process operator at Crosfield Chemicals for 27 years.
Mr Hewitt played dominoes for the Three Pigeons, enjoyed gardening, bowls, television, holidays at the family caravan in Devon, and spending a lot of time with his children and grandchildren.
He was a lifelong Warrington Wolves fan.
He leaves his wife, two sons and five grandchildren.
A service was held on April 28 at St Ann's Church, followed by cremation at Walton Lea. The Rev M McDonald officiated.
The ashes were interred in the family grave at Warrington Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by A Maddock & Son.
