Mr Reg Kenwright, husband of Mrs Gladys Kenwright, died on April 25, aged 77.
Mr Kenwright, of Orford, lived in Warrington all his life.
He was last employed as a fitter-turner at Daresbury Laboratory for 23 years, and had worked at Richmond's Gas Stove Company and Rubery Owen.
He served in the RAF in Egypt during the Second World War.
Mr Kenwright enjoyed crown green bowls and was a regular player for Orford War Memorial, Rylands Sunday Night Pairs, and Tetley Walkers Pensioners teams, and liked holidays both in the UK and abroad.
He leaves his wife, a son and two grandsons.
A service was held on May 6 at St Andrew's Church, followed by cremation at Walton Lea. The Rev Michael Raynor officiated.
Arrangements were made by Co-operative Funeral Services.
