Mr Ernest Mellor, husband of Mrs Isobel (Sybil) Mellor, died on April 6 of carcenoma. He was 79.
Mr Mellor lived in Warrington all his life. He began his employment at Rylands Whitecross, then joined the regular Army and became a despatch rider. After leaving the Army he was an HGV driver for various companies, before becoming a bus driver with Warrington Corporation, from where he retired.
Mr Mellor leaves his wife, two sons, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A service was held on April 10 at Walton Lea, followed by cremation. The Rev Ron Percival officiated.
Arrangements were made by Knox & Son.
